The Data Specialist will play a role for data admin, maintenance, implementing data projects according to requirements and timelines. This role will support and operate in ThermoFisher data application projects to support our business team. The role is responsible for providing data source, design data structure for project execution. It need experience with large volumes of data from multiple sources, including sales data, marketing data, supply chain logistics data, service data.
Responsibilities:
- Data Source Management: Partner global /local team to collect and organize large amount of data from various sources into a centralized database.
- Data Quality Maintenance: Monitoring and maintaining data accuracy, completeness, and consistency, identifying and resolving data quality issues.
- Data Classification and Standardization: Defining data classifications and ensuring data is organized and stored according to established standards for better retrieval and analysis.
- Data Security and Privacy: Ensuring secure storage and transmission of data, adhering to relevant regulations and policies to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.
- Data Access Management: Managing data access permissions to ensure that only authorized personnel can access specific data.
- Data Documentation and Metadata Management: Maintaining data dictionaries, documentation, and metadata to provide understanding of data meanings, sources, and uses.
- Problem Solving: Quickly identifying and resolving data-related issues, including data errors and inconsistencies.
- Business Department Support: Collaborating with business departments to understand their data needs, providing data support and solutions.
- Data Project Execution: Working with business team and IT BP team on project assessment. Design data structures and layers. Deploy and monitor data ETL job
Qualifications:
- Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as statistics, mathematics, engineering, or computer science is required.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in data analysis, database management, or business intelligence. Specific experience in supply chain, service, or sales analytics may also be preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong skills in SQL Server and Power BI are essential. The role need to be proficient in SQL for data manipulation and querying, and in Power BI for data visualization and reporting. Experienced on data structure and data layer design.
- Business Knowledge: Knowledge of the supply chain, service, and sales functions, including key metrics and performance indicators, is essential for this role.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills are essential, be able to communicate complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders, including senior management. Fluent English in both speaking and writing.
- Project Management Skills: Ability to manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines are important, work on multiple projects simultaneously and need to balance competing demands.
